Johnny Depp

John Christopher Depp II (Owensboro, Kentucky, June 9, 1963) is an American actor, producer, director, screenwriter and musician. For his performances, he has been the recipient of several awards, including being nominated on three occasions to the Oscar and winning a Golden Globe, an award from the Actors Guild  and a César.   Depp began his acting career by appearing in the horror film A Nightmare on Elm Street as Glen Lantz, one of the victims of Freddy Krueger. Two years later, he had a supporting role in the Oscar-winning film Platoon directed by Oliver Stone. However, fame came to him as the personification of Tom Hanson in the television series 21 Jump Street, becoming a teenage idol. While working on this, Depp starred in the film Edward Scissorhands, which earned him his first nomination to the Golden Globe  and recognition by the critics.
